Xploder Parental Gamelock (PS2)

The Xploder Parental GameLock is designed to give parents of children within certain age groups peace of mind when their children are playing their PS2 games unattended. The software has been designed in the UK in response to the growing number of reported cases of younger children getting access to adult themed games without their parents' knowledge.

The Parental GameLock is a combination of unique proprietary software and an innovative locking device (X-Lock). On initial installation, the Parental GameLock software installs a program onto the users memory card.

Each time the PlayStation 2 is turned on or reset, the console will access the software installed onto the memory card prior to loading a PlayStation 2 game. Depending on the parents initial configuration of the age groups allowed for each child, the Parental GameLock software will not allow games with an age rating higher than that specified to be played on the console.
